02 — About the photographer

Behind
the lens.

From a gap-year curiosity to shooting elite athletes and brand stories.

Photography entered my life unexpectedly during my gap year after matric. What began as a simple curiosity soon evolved into a deep appreciation for the art of visual storytelling.

Armed with a camera and a desire to create, I found myself courtside at a padel tournament, photographing my older brother as he competed. It was there, amidst the intensity of the game and the fleeting moments between points, that I discovered the power of a single frame.

Driven by a growing passion for the craft, I dedicated myself to refining my eye and understanding the nuances of photography. Working alongside Slingshot Films provided invaluable mentorship, shaping both my technical skills and creative approach. Those early experiences laid the foundation for a style that is rooted in authenticity, emotion, and thoughtful composition.

Today, my work is guided by a belief that the most compelling images are the ones that tell a story. Whether capturing elite athletes, brand narratives, or significant moments, I strive to create imagery that feels timeless, intentional, and deeply connected to the people and stories at its heart.

Started: Gap year after matric — courtside at a padel tournament.
